Türkiye and Saudi Arabia have reached an agreement to enhance their cooperation in the judicial sector, following discussions in Ankara between Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek and his Saudi counterpart, Walid bin Muhammad Al Samaani. The meeting focused on expanding collaboration in areas such as judicial reforms, legal expertise, and the implementation of digital justice initiatives.
Both ministers highlighted the significance of developing stronger legal systems and fostering cooperation in alignment with Türkiye’s “Century of Türkiye Vision” and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. This strategic partnership aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of justice systems in both nations.
In an offer to bolster this cooperation, Türkiye proposed sharing its experiences with judicial digitalization through its National Judiciary Informatics System (UYAP). This includes providing insights into artificial intelligence-supported legal services, enhancing cybersecurity, and promoting alternative dispute resolution along with judicial cooperation.
The ministers concurred that intensifying official exchanges and fostering direct collaboration among legal professionals would not only strengthen the bilateral relationship but also contribute to the development of more efficient and modern justice systems in both countries. This agreement marks a significant step forward in their mutual efforts to enhance legal frameworks and justice accessibility.
