The reserves of Türkiye’s central bank have seen a significant rise, gaining nearly $40 billion since the end of June, marking their peak level in about five months. In the week ending August 21, the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) is estimated to have increased its total reserves by $5.3 billion, bringing them to approximately $188.8 billion, up from $183.5 billion the previous week.

Back on June 26, the reserves had dipped to around $149.2 billion. However, since then, they have experienced a robust recovery. By the close of July, the reserves had climbed to $164.4 billion, continuing their upward trajectory throughout August.

This recent estimated growth places the reserves at approximately $39.6 billion higher than the June low, reaching their most elevated point since March 13. The steady increase underscores a strong financial rebound for Türkiye’s central banking system over the past few months.

Official data confirming the reserves for the week ending August 21 is anticipated to be released on Thursday, providing a clearer picture of the central bank’s financial standing and the efficacy of its economic strategies during this period.
