The School of Cyber Defence competition, which first took place during GISEC Global 2025, garnered over 300 applications from UAE universities and saw 130 students participate in qualification rounds. The 2026 edition is open to students aged 17 and above, allowing them to form teams of up to five members without requiring prior competition experience. The event also offers a prize pool exceeding AED 20,000, adding an extra incentive for participation.
Key dates for the competition include registration closing on September 3, 2026, online qualification by September 6, 2026, a case study and jury assessment from September 7 to 11, 2026, and the announcement of finalists and mentoring on September 14, 2026.
